Goals

Hey so Bacardi is getting some cool new art...

The new Dragon Berry looks pretty sweet and Lime Tree Cove is working on partnering up with them with our newest flavor, Vanilla Maple (or Maple Vanilla, which sounds better?). I usually have those little fruity or flowery patterns fading in and out on my packaging design...but Vanilla is hella hard and DRAGONS are so much cooler...

...expect something soon.

Diner Lingo Sketch

Thought of a fun little project for myself, who knows, maybe I'll make it into a pattern...but the point is that its a fun project that will keep my mind working.

Bloodhounds on the Hay

The project is diner lingo, like Pigs in a Blanket, all animal based. Bloodhounds on the hay is Hot Dogs and Sauerkraut. I also have: Canned Cow (evaporated milk), Chickens on a Raft (eggs on toast), and Toad in the Hole (egg in toast hole). I'm going to try a vector version and a watercolor version.

New Year, New Art

So Happy New Year! My resolution is to be even more productive and work on developing and managing new designs and patterns, maybe more so in the fabric region.

The Orchids

Yeah I'm basically in love with orchids--not because they are pretty and rare and have a million cool colors, but more so because of their temperament. They are picky, particular, and will only produce flowers when they really feel like it. They are not an easy plant, but somehow I have 5 right now, none of them flowering because I don't always water them with warm water.

This pattern might not go anywhere, but it was fun to get back into the habit of drawing AND scanning something. I might watercolor them a little and see where they go...

RISD Holiday Art Sale

A General Update about the upcoming sale next week:

I will be selling at least 2 types of plates at the sale, one of the Marlin with the bait ball, another same style, but with a shark. Depending on the amount of available decals, more designs might appear as well. These plates are all 8 1/4" diameter and will sell for the following prices:

1 plate: $14 / 2 plates: $25 / 4 plates: $45
(there will be an available discount for close friends and family, while supplies last)

Packaging for the plates is available at no fee in special silkscreened boxes. Boxes are strong and can store up to 2 plates with buffering packaging. I will try to also offer special gift wrapping for a small fee at the sale, space and supplies permitting.

There will also be small 4" white ceramic coasters for sale with a variety of designs and patterns from the Lure Line printed on them. They will be sold in small packs of 4, although I expect there will be some loose ones available as well. The coaster packs will be $20 for the four, and they will be professionally packaged and include gift tags, ready for gift giving.

Magnets are also being sold. I have packs and singles of Cats, Dogs, and Marine Animals, to be sold at:

1 magnet: $1 / Pack of 5: $8 / 3 Packs of 5: $20

The location is not yet specific, although I do know I will be in a corner booth with Kate Walsh, handmade jewelry and Eloise Norrigan, illustrations. I do hope to see you there!
